Balloon Catheters Cause Pulmonary Embolism

Sarah N. Emery
Associate Attorney at Schachter Hendy & Johnson PSC

The FDA recently recalled balloon catheters used to dissolve blood clots that were actually causing blood clots in the lungs and death. The defect was caused by the company mislabeling the balloon ports on the product which resulted in blood clots being dislodged and causing additional injuries.

The affected balloon catheters were used as early as June 6, 2014. You can find out more about whether a catheter used in your or a loved one's surgery is subject to the recall here.

If you or a loved one had surgery to dissolve a blood clot on or after June 6, 2014 and had a pulmonary embolism (blood clot in the lungs) or died, please call our experienced attorneys at (888) 606-5297 for a free consultation about your potential balloon catheter lawsuit. We can help you find out why your injury happened.
