Two people were injured in a Lexington crash on August 29, 2011, on Monday evening at 4468 Leestown Road. Lexington police indicated that the crash occurred around 6:11 p.m. and involved a drunk driver.

Lexington police indicated that the drunken driver crashed his 2006 Jeep Cherokee into a Volkswagen, causing the driver and the passenger of the VW to sustain injuries. The Jeep, driven by 47-year-old Thomas C. Wright, of Midway, was traveling on Leestown Road when it crossed over the center line.

The Jeep crashed head-on with Samantha L. Arnold, the driver of the 2003 Volkswagen Beetle. Arnold, of Georgetown, was transported to the University Of Kentucky Chandler Hospital in critical condition. Her passenger was also taken to the same hospital for medical care of non life-threatening injuries.

Lexington police charged Wright with driving under the influence of alcohol and marijuana, two counts of assault, possession of marijuana, and other charges following this Lexington auto accident.
