Six Bus Passengers Injured in Louisville Accident

Posted on Aug 02, 2011
On Monday, July 11, 2011, a Louisville accident occurred downtown involving a passenger vehicle and a bus. Authorities say the crash occurred early Monday morning and caused many injuries to the passengers traveling on the bus.

A Transit Authority of River City (TARC) bus was stopped at a red light on East Liberty Street at the Shelby Street intersection when a car struck the back of the bus. This rear-end accident injured six people on the bus.

One of the six injured was the bus driver, and the remaining five were passengers. Louisville Metro Police indicated that the injuries sustained appeared to be minor, and they were all taken to area hospitals for medical care.

The driver of the car was not injured in the wreck, and his name has not been released at this time. Police indicated that he was driving a Chrysler 300 at the time of the 6 a.m. Kentucky crash.

Louisville Metro Police said that alcohol is not suspected in this case, but the accident is still under investigation.

We would like to wish all involved and injured in this accident a full recovery.
