Owingsville Car Accident Claims the Lives of 2 Women

An Owingsville car accident involving two vehicles claims the lives of a pair of women after one of the cars crosses into oncoming traffic. The incident took place on Saturday, April 24, 2010, along Interstate 64.
According to reports, a driver traveling westbound along I-64, lost control of her vehicle and crossed into the eastbound lanes. The vehicle struck another car head-on, claiming the lives of two women.
The driver of the car that crossed into opposing traffic has been identified as Tessa Harris, 27, of Ashland. She was killed as a result of the collision.
The driver of the second car has been identified as James Samples, 45, of Lexington. Rescue crews transported Samples to University of Kentucky Hospital where he was treated for injuries sustained in the accident. His condition was not made known
In the car with Samples was 45-year old Debbie Samples. Debbie was also taken to University of Kentucky Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The fatal Owingsville auto accident is still under investigation by local authorities. Police have yet to determine what caused Harris to lose control of her car and veer into oncoming traffic.
This is an unfortunate accident. Our thoughts and condolences go out to all of those who have been affected by it. We wish Mr. Samples a speedy recovery during this difficult time.
