Outer Loop Crash Leaves Louisville Woman Dead

On Tuesday, October 4, 2011, a deadly Louisville crash occurred on the Outer Loop, just west of Interstate 65. Louisville Metro Police stated that the crash was reported at 6:50 p.m.
When emergency responders arrived on scene, they found a pickup truck and van that collided on the Outer Loop near McDonald's at Minors Lane, but both were off to the side of the road.
Witnesses reported to the police that the van attempted to turn onto Interstate 65 and pulled out in front of the truck. Some witnesses attempted to help those involved in the crash but said that the woman traveling in the van was already dead.
The van was driven by a man whose name has not been released. He was injured but was alert when emergency responders got to him. It appeared that he suffered injuries to his legs. The woman in the van was later identified as 25-year-old Candice Bartlett, of Louisville.
The Jefferson County deputy coroner said that the victim died from multiple injuries.
The motorists who were traveling in the truck appeared to have suffered minor injuries.
