Posted on Apr 09, 2013

An Alexandria crash involving a semi-truck and a passenger car occurred on Wednesday, March 13, 2013. This Northern Kentucky trucking accident left the driver of the car injured, and the driver had to be transported by ambulance to an area hospital for medical treatment of his injuries.

According to police, this Wednesday afternoon crash took place on the AA Highway in Campbell County, Kentucky. The Campbell County dispatchers said that this collision specifically took place at the intersection of the AA Highway and Poplar Ridge Road around 1:20 p.m.

It appeared that the driver of the Pontiac was traveling westbound on Poplar Ridge Road when police believe he ran a red light. Alexandria Police Lt. George Schreiner said that “the tractor trailer was about three-fourths of the way through the intersection, and the back of the wheels of the trailer ran over the car.”

The identity of the injured driver has not been released; however, we do know that he is a 42-year-old man, of Wilder, and that he was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center for treatment. Police indicated that the man’s car was totaled in the wreck.

The identity of the semi-truck driver has not been released; however, it was reported that the trucker is a 60-year-old man from Virginia, and that he was not injured in the wreck. Police indicated that the trailer was empty at the time of the crash, but the severity of the damage to the semi is unknown at this time.

As police continue to investigate this crash, our Northern Kentucky accident attorneys at the Law Office of Schachter, Hendy & Johnson wish the injured driver a full and fast recovery.
