Northern Kentucky Crash Caused by Drunk Driver Claims One Life and Injures Another

On Saturday, November 19, 2011, a tragic Northern Kentucky crash occurred, killing one person and leaving another injured. According to authorities, the wreck was caused due to a drunk driver.
The crash happened around 11:30 p.m. on SR 111, just south of Budd Road. The Floyd County Sheriff's Department received the call and arrived on scene to investigate the accident. They found that 31-year-old Wesley Bradshaw, of Danville, was driving a gold Toyota when it crossed the center line of SR 111. The Toyota slammed into a 2003 Infiniti, seriously injuring the driver, 52-year-old Kevin Hammersmith, who later died of his injuries. A passenger in this same car was also injured and transported to Floyd Memorial Hospital for medical treatment.
Bradshaw refused medical treatment at the scene of the crash. The investigation did determine that Bradshaw was operating his vehicle while intoxicated. Because of this OWI causing death, he was taken to Floyd County Jail.
Kevin Hammersmith was a Duke Energy Manager in Indiana and leaves a family behind.
