Northern Kentucky Car Crash Sends an Expectant Mother Into Labor

A Northern Kentucky car crash results in labor when an expectant mother is involved in an auto accident at the intersection of Rickman Road and Old Highway 60. This McCracken County crash happened on Sunday morning, October 16, 2011.
Autumn Dawes was traveling westbound on Old Highway 60 when a car, being pushed by a truck, failed to stop at a stop sign and crashed into Dawes' vehicle. Upon impact, Dawes' airbag deployed and her water broke.
Dawes was only 37 weeks into her pregnancy when she went into labor due to the car crash. She told authorities that she didn't think her unborn son was going to make it. She was taken to Western Baptist Hospital, and doctors had to perform an emergency C-section because her son's heart rate was dropping.
Dawes gave birth to her son Grayson Joseph at 2:34 p.m. and is thankful that this horrible west Paducah car crash ended with the beginning of her son's life.
Misty McDaniel was in the car being pushed by Michael Chittendel, the driver of the truck pushing the car. Currently, there are no charges filed against either of them, as police are still investigating the accident.
