On Wednesday, April 4, 2012, a Walton woman was killed in a Northern Kentucky car crash. Police indicated that five people were injured in addition to the one fatality. According to reports, the fatal wreck occurred around 4:15 PM near Walton, KY.
Tarra Miller, 21, of Florence, was traveling southbound on Dixie Highway (U.S. 25) near Chambers Road when her vehicle went left of the center and collided head-on into a vehicle heading northbound, killing the driver of the other car.
Leeann Wilson, 36, of Walton, died at the accident scene. She had three other people traveling with her, including her two teenaged children and Melanie Abalos, 39, of Bedford, Indiana. Brandon Wilson, 15, and Angel Wilson, 13, were seated in the back seat at the time of the crash. They were taken to Children’s Hospital in Cincinnati for medical treatment, and Melanie Abalos was transported to University Hospital for medical care.
After an initial investigation, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office revealed that Abalos was the only passenger in Wilson’s vehicle to have worn a seatbelt. Police indicated that Tarra Miller and her passenger, 28-year-old Andrew Miller, both were wearing their seatbelts and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. They were taken to Saint Elizabeth Hospital for medical care.
The collision was investigated by the Boone County Sheriff’s Accident Reconstruction Team, which caused the road to be closed for three hours following the crash.
Our Northern Kentucky accident attorneys at the Law Offices of Schachter, Hendy, & Johnson would like to wish the family and friends of Leeann Wilson comfort during this very difficult time, and we hope for full recoveries of all those injured in this wreck. We would also like to remind all drivers and passengers to buckle up every time they are in motor vehicles
