New Study Finds Most Men on Testosterone Don't Need It

If you watch a sports event or almost any action movie, you're likely to see advertisements for testosterone medications, like AndroGel. The manufacturers of testosterone have spent millions each year convincing men that the natural aging process and its side effects are actually a disease called "low testosterone." There efforts have resulted in many men seeking out testosterone therapy.

But do these men actually need testosterone? Over 90% don't according to the study entitled "The Impact of Drug Reimbursement Policy on Rates of Testosterone Replacement Therapy among Older Men," which was published in the journal PLOS One on July 16, 2014. The study found that "only 6.4% of men who intiated testosterone had a documented diagnosis of hypogandism, the main criteria for TRT...."

This finding is particularly disturbing in light of the serious risks of heart attack, stroke, pulmonary embolism, blood clots and heart problems associated with testosterone.

If you or a loved one had a stroke, pulmonary embolism, blood clot, or heart attack while taking a testosterone medication, like AndroGel, please call our experienced AndroGel attorneys at (888) 606-5297 for a free consultation about your potential AndroGel lawsuit.
