A serious Northern Kentucky crash that involved two semi trucks and an automobile occurred around 12:00 PM on Tuesday, August 7, 2012. According to officials, the crash took place on northbound Interstate 71/75 at the 183 mile marker in Erlanger.
This commercial truck and car accident in Erlanger was responsible for shutting down I-71/75 in Northern Kentucky for several hours that afternoon. Erlanger Police and Fire/EMS responded to the crash, but a medical helicopter was called to the accident scene due to the severity of the injuries.
The helicopter had to land on the interstate, which was the main reason the road was closed to traffic. The southbound lanes were also backed up as drivers looked at the passing scene when driving by the crash site.
Sadly, the crash was severe, producing very serious injuries to the driver in the passenger car involved. Leslie Reynolds, 23, of Elsmere, was the driver taken by Air Care to University Hospital with serious injuries.
Erlanger police have indicated that Reynolds lost control of his car and struck the center median just south of Donaldson Road. When this happened, the car was then hit by two different tractor-trailer trucks that were traveling in the same direction.
Unfortunately, police said that Reynolds was ejected from the car as he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Authorities said his condition was unknown but that he is still in serious condition. We do know that there was no one else in the vehicle with Reynolds during the wreck.
Our Northern Kentucky auto accident attorneys at the Law Offices of Schachter, Hendy, & Johnson would like to wish Mr. Reynolds a fast and full recovery.
