Posted on May 07, 2011
A Louisville motorcycle accident involving another vehicle claims the life of a man after his motorcycle slams into a wall and forced into the path of a sport utility vehicle (SUV). The incident took place at approximately 8:00 on Sunday evening, May 1, 2011, on Interstate 65.

According to local police, witnesses reported seeing the man on a motorcycle traveling northbound on Interstate 65. He was just past Hospital Curve near First and Liberty when he slammed into a wall. The 54-year-old man apparently did not make the curve, and the force of the impact sent him into the path of a southbound SUV, where he was struck.

The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident due to injuries sustained in the two-vehicle crash. His identity was not immediately made available. He was reported as wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

The fatal Louisville motorcycle accident is still under investigation by local authorities. It is unclear as to what caused the motorcyclist to lose control of his bike.

This is a terrible tragedy, and we would like to extend our thoughts and condolences to the victim's family and friends during this difficult time.
