Louisville Car Accident Sends Four to the Hospital

Posted on Jun 17, 2011

A Louisville car accident involving two vehicles sends four people to the hospital, including three children, after the driver loses control of his vehicle. The incident took place at approximately 2:00 on Saturday morning, June 11, 2011, in the 6500 block of Six Mile Lane and Lodge Lane.

According to Metro police, the driver of a silver 2011 Lincoln Town Car traveling southbound on Six Mile Lane lost control of the vehicle and ran off the road. The driver returned to the road but unfortunately slammed into another Lincoln Town Car.

There were five people inside the second vehicle, two adults and three children. Rescue crews transported the three children to Kosair Hospital where they were treated for injuries sustained in the accident. One adult was taken to University Hospital. Their conditions were not immediately known. However, one of the children sustained life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the first vehicle fled the accident scene after speaking to witnesses. The car was reportedly a rental car with Tennessee plates.

The two-vehicle Louisville car accident is still under investigation by local authorities. Investigators have asked anyone with information concerning the hit-and-run accident to contact Louisville Metro Police at (504) 574-5673.

This is a terrible accident, and we wish all the victims a speedy recovery during this difficult time.
