Louisville Car Accident Claims the Life of Elderly Woman

A Louisville car accident involving two vehicles claims the life of an elderly woman and leaves another victim hospitalized. The incident took place at approximately 4:30 AM on Sunday morning, October 3, 2010, near the intersection of Taylor Boulevard and Bluegrass Avenue.

According to the Louisville Metro Police Department, a woman traveling southbound on Taylor Boulevard crossed the centerline and slammed head-on into a northbound Toyota pickup truck. The woman has been identified as 76-year-old Kui Leach.

Leach was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident from severe injuries suffered in the crash, said the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.

Rescue crews transported the unidentified driver of the pickup truck to University of Louisville Hospital where he was treated for injuries sustained in the two-vehicle wreck. His condition was not immediately made known.

The fatal Louisville auto accident is still under investigation by local authorities. Police have indicated that they are trying to determine if damp conditions played a role in the collision.
