A Louisville auto accident involving three vehicles claims the life of a local woman and sends five others to a local hospital. The incident took place at approximately 5:30 on Thursday afternoon, May 11, 2011, near Iroquois Park.

According to local police, a Toyota Matrix was speeding along Southern Parkway and ran a red light, slamming into a Chrysler Sebring at the intersection of Taylor Boulevard and Marret Place. A Dodge Stratus, which was traveling behind the Sebring, was also struck in the accident.

Unfortunately, Diane Wilson, 51, of Louisville, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident due to injuries sustained in the crash. Rescue crews transported five other victims to University Hospital where they were treated for injuries. Their identities and conditions were not immediately made available.

The identity of the driver that allegedly caused the accident was also not immediately made known. It is unclear if the driver was injured as a result of the accident.

The fatal three-vehicle Louisville auto accident is still under investigation by local authorities.

This is a terrible tragedy, and we would like to extend our thoughts and condolences to Ms. Wilson's family and friends during this difficult time. We would also like to wish the other victims a speedy recovery.
