Louisville Auto Accident Claims the Life of a Woman

A Louisville auto accident claims the life of a woman after she is struck by a van after getting out of her car along the Dixie Highway. The incident took place at approximately 10:45 PM on Monday evening, June 14, 2010.
According to Louisville Metro Police Department spokesperson Dwight Mitchell, the victim was traveling southbound in the 12000 block of the Dixie Highway when she pulled her van over to the side of the road. That is when she was hit by a second van traveling southbound. It was unclear as to why the woman pulled her vehicle over.
The unidentified woman was pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the accident. She is believed to be from South Carolina.
There were three children reported as being in her van at the time of the accident. Fortunately, they were not injured in the accident.
The fatal Louisville car accident is still under investigation by local authorities. Police report that the second driver did not see the woman and they do not expect to file any charges. The second driver’s identity was not immediately made known.
This is a terrible tragedy and we send our thoughts and condolences to the victim’s family and friends during this difficult time.
