Lexington Motorcycle Crash Claims 49-Year-Old’s Life

Early Saturday morning on July 30, 2011, a fatal Lexington motorcycle crash occurred on Russell Cave Road, outside the entrance to Lexmark. After the crash, authorities said that a security guard found the motorcyclist's body in the bushes outside a Lexington business.
Lexington police said that the motorcyclist lost control of his bike around 2:30 a.m., causing the rider to hit a tree and a utility pole. As a result, he was thrown from his motorcycle and landed in the bushes.
Sadly, Allen was pronounced dead at the accident scene. Although police found a motorcycle helmet at the crash site, they do not believe Allen was wearing it at the time of the accident because Allen sustained a serious head injury.
The Fayette County Coroner later identified the driver of the motorcycle as Kevin Allen, 49, of Lexington.
Police are not sure if Allen misjudged the curve in the road or if he crashed for another reason. They are still investigating the crash to determine if speed and alcohol were factors.
