Lexington Car Accident Leaves Pregnant Woman Hospitalized

Posted on Jul 17, 2010

A Lexington car accident involving two vehicles leaves a pregnant woman hospitalized after her sport utility vehicle (SUV) strikes a tree and then flips over. The incident took place at approximately 8:00 AM on Wednesday morning, July 7, 2010, along Richmond Road.

According to local police, a silver Volvo turned in front of a SUV that was traveling along Richmond Road, near St. Joseph Hospital East. The driver of the SUV lost control of the vehicle and slammed into a tree before finally flipping over. The victim, who is seven months pregnant, has been identified as Leticial Preacely.

Rescue crews transported Preacely to St. Joseph Hospital East where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries. She has been listed in stable condition. However, there was no information immediately available as to the condition of her unborn baby.

The identity of the driver of the Volvo was not made known or if the driver sustained any injuries in the incident.

The Lexington auto accident is still under investigation by local authorities. It was unclear as to whether any charges are going to be brought forth against the driver of the Volvo.

This is an unfortunate accident and we wish Ms. Preacely and her unborn child a speedy recovery.
