Jefferson County Car Accident Claims the Life of OnePosted on Oct 08, 2010
According to Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Alicia Smiley, a woman driving northbound on Brush Run Road near Dawson Hill Road in a Honda Civic crossed the centerline and slammed into a Buick LaCrosse that was traveling southbound.
Rescue crews transported the unidentified woman to University Hospital. Unfortunately, the female driver was pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the wreck.
The driver of the Buick, identified as an elderly man, was also transported to University Hospital. His injuries have been described as non-life threatening. Smiley reported that the man was able to explain to the police what happened in the accident.
The fatal Jefferson County auto accident is still under investigation by local authorities. It was unclear as to what caused the woman to cross the centerline, but police are trying to determine if wet roads contributed to the crash. They have also indicated that they do not intend to file any charges.
This is a terrible accident and we would like to extend our thoughts and condolences to everyone who has been impacted by it.
