A first date ended in a tragic date to remember for the families of two. The evening of Sunday, September 16, 2012, was the first date for Edward Fey Jr., 34, and 31-year-old Kristy Lynn Flinn.
According to Louisville Metro Police Department Spokesperson Alicia Smiley, Fey was driving a moped and Flinn was his passenger. Fey was traveling north on Cane Run Road when his moped collided with a car attempting to make a left turn onto Terry Lane in the Pleasure Ridge Park neighborhood of Louisville.
Sadly, neither Fey nor Flinn were wearing motorcycle helmets at the time of the accident. Police stated that the moped driver died at the scene of this tragic Louisville crash around 11:00 PM Saturday night. According to the coroner’s office, he died of multiple blunt force injuries.
Flinn was transported to University Hospital in critical condition. Unfortunately, she later died of blunt force injuries. Autopsies concluded that both died of blunt force trauma.
The woman driving the Ford Focus, the car that was involved in this traffic accident, was not injured and she has not been charged at this time.
Investigators shut down the intersection for several hours as they investigated the accident scene. Police have stated that do not believe alcohol was a factor in this wreck.
Sadly, Flinn leaves behind her four children.
Our Louisville personal injury lawyers at the Law Offices of Schachter, Hendy, & Johnson would like to send our deepest condolences to the families of Edward Fey Jr. and Kristy Lynn Flinn.
