Dixie Highway Accident Claims Life of One and Injures Four

On Saturday, July 16, 2011, a fatal Louisville auto accident took place on Dixie Highway. Police indicated that a red F-250 pickup truck and a silver Dodge Intrepid were involved in this crash.
The Kentucky wreck occurred in the 9700 block of Dixie Highway around 2 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, near the Gene Snyder Highway.
Louisville Metro's 3rd Division arrived on scene and stated that it appeared that the pickup truck was traveling south on Dixie Highway when it crossed the center line and smashed into the Dodge that was headed north.
There were three people in the Dodge and two occupants in the pickup truck. All five were injured and transported to University Hospital. One of the female passengers in the Dodge sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The other four sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Barbara Prince, 67, has been identified as the person who was killed in this wreck. She was riding in the back seat of the Dodge at the time this crash occurred.
Police are still investigating this southwest Jefferson County crash and are not sure why the pickup truck crossed the center line. Authorities do not believe that drugs, alcohol or speed contributed to the collision at this time.
The other names of the people injured in this accident have not been released, but police have indicated that it appears that they should recover from their injuries.
We would like to wish everyone involved in this Louisville crash a full and quick recovery, and we would like to extend our condolences to the family and friends of Barbara Prince.
