An early morning Cincinnati car accident involving two vehicles along a busy interstate leaves two people injured. The incident took place on Friday morning, December 11, 2009, during the morning commute.
According to Cincinnati Police, the crash involving two unidentified vehicles occurred when one of the cars rear-ended the other. The force of the impact caused a 20-year-old woman to become trapped in her vehicle and leaving a 60-year-old man, who was hit from behind, unconscious. It was not determined if there were any other passengers in the vehicles at the time of the crash.
Rescue workers transported both of the victims to nearby University Hospital where they were treated for injuries sustained in the morning crash. Officials have described the injuries to both of the unidentified victims as non-life threatening. No other information concerning their injuries was made available.
The two-vehicle crash forced local police to shut down two southbound lanes of Interstate 71 just south of Dana Avenue as crews cleared the wreckage from the early morning accident. The lanes were reopened later that morning.
The police have not released any other information about the crash. However, the two-vehicle Cincinnati crash is still under investigation by local authorities.
