Boone County Truck Crash Sends Man to Hospital by Aircare

Posted on Apr 18, 2013

An early Friday morning crash on Dixie Highway in Boone County, involving a pickup truck and large semi-truck, was responsible for sending one person to the hospital by Aircare. According to officials, this Florence, Kentucky truck crash occurred on March 29, 2013 around 2:21 a.m.

The Florence Police said that this Kentucky trucking accident took place on Dixie Highway between Industrial Road and Empire Drive. According to the preliminary accident investigation details, it was believed that pickup truck driver Stephen Tiley, 29, hit the semi.

According to officials, Tiley was traveling in a small pickup truck in the 8000 block of Dixie Highway when he went left of center and collided with an oncoming large tractor trailer. Upon impact, Tiley was trapped in his pickup truck and had to be extricated by emergency crews when they arrived at the scene. He was then flown by helicopter to University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he was listed in serious condition. Officials have since said that his injuries are serious but not life threatening.

The truck driver involved, 60-year-old David Freeman, of Cincinnati, did not report any injuries in the wreck.

The crash remains under investigation; however, Florence Police suspect that alcohol was a contributing factor that led to the pickup crossing over the center line and causing this Boone County truck crash. No charges have been filed at this time.

Our Northern Kentucky accident attorneys at the Law Office of Schachter, Hendy & Johnson would like to wish Stephen Tiley a full and fast recovery, and we would like to remind drivers to never drink and drive.
