A Cincinnati Car Accident Involves Semi

A Cincinnati truck accident sends one to the hospital after the car collides with the truck and becomes stuck underneath it. The incident took place at approximately 6:00 AM on Monday morning, January 11, 2010, on southbound Interstate 75.

According to police, Anthony Townsend, attempted to pass a semi in the right lane and lost control of his vehicle. Townsend’s vehicle became stuck as it slid underneath the semi. The semi dragged his car approximately 550 feet down I-75, just south of Paddock Road, exit 9.

Townsend was able to escape his vehicle on his own. Another vehicle stopped and offered Townsend a seat to keep warm until authorities arrived on the scene.

Rescue crews transported Townsend to University Hospital. Details about his injuries were not made available. However, it was reported that he was being held for observation by hospital officials.

The unidentified driver of the semi was not injured in the wreck.

Morning commuters were inconvenienced for several hours as crews cleaned up the accident.  The accident caused heavy delays along the interstate. According to reports, the semi suffered damage to its brakes and had to be towed.

The Cincinnati accident is still under investigation by local authorities.
