Does AndroGel Cause Heart Attacks?

In a recent study, independent doctors and scientists found that AndroGel and other testosterone medications can more than double your risk of having a heart attack.

Doctors have widely stated that they still do not understand all of the risks and problems associated with AndroGel and other testosterone medications. However, it's currently believed that AndroGel can cause heart attacks in several ways.

AndroGel can cause increased hematocrit and red blood cell counts. This effectively thickens the blood and makes it prone to clotting. In some instances, clots form in the heart causing a heart attack. In others, the thickened blood cannot make it through the veins and arteries, causing a heart attack.

AndroGel is a synthetic testosterone and converts, at least in part, to estradiol when taking by men. Estradiol is the male form of estrogen and is particularly hard on the heart in large quantities. It is believed that this is another way in which AndroGel causes heart attacks.

If you or a loved one had a heart attack while taking AndroGel or another testosterone medication, please call our experienced AndroGel attorneys at (888) 606-5297 for a free consultation about your potential AndroGel lawsuit.
