The Lack of an Antidote—A Deadly Problem

Although the makers of Xarelto—Bayer and Janssen Pharmaceuticals—are currently working on creating an antidote to suppress bleeding caused by Xarelto, there still isn’t an antidote. The fact that there has been a lack of an antidote for years deserves more attention. How can a drug manufacturer consciously make a medication knowing that there is no antidote to stop bleeding for patients taking the drug?

With the well-established drug warfarin, Xarelto's competition, bleeding can be reversed with the use of vitamin K. With Xarelto, nothing has been proven to reverse the deadly effects of the drug. This means that the makers of Xarelto manufacturer blatantly promoted and released a medication knowing that death would probably occur due to uncontrolled bleeding events on Xarelto.

The lack of an antidote makes Xarelto considerably more dangerous than warfarin.  Hundreds of people have died due to bleeds that could not be reversed while on Xarelto.

When Xarelto was released, Bayer and Janssen Pharmaceuticals didn’t focus on the potentially deadly side effects. Instead, they focused on the fact that patients wouldn’t have to get as many blood tests as they would on warfarin and that there would be less of a need for diet monitoring. Sadly, most patients didn’t even know about the risk of uncontrollable bleeding because the company failed to adequately warn consumers of this danger.

If your loved one has suffered a massive bleed or died due to the deadly effects of Xarelto, please call our experienced Xarelto attorneys at (888) 606-5297 for a free consultation about your potential Xarelto lawsuit.
