Louisville Auto Accident Leaves Teen Bicyclist Injured

A Louisville auto accident involving a teen bicyclist sends him to the hospital after he was struck by a car while riding his bike. The incident took place at approximately 8:00 PM on Tuesday evening, August 10, 2010, along Dixie Highway.

According to Shively Police, the male bicyclist was riding in the 3700 block of Dixie Highway when he was hit by a car. Rescue crews transported the teen to Kosair Children’s Hospital where he was treated for injuries sustained in the accident. His condition was not immediately made known.

Police have yet to determine if the bicyclist was riding in a lane or made an attempt to cross the street in the path of the car. It was unclear how fast the car was traveling when it struck the teen. It was also not made known as to whether the driver of the car was injured in the accident.

The Louisville car accident involving the bicyclist is still under investigation by local authorities. Police have indicated that they do not expect to file any charges against the motorist.
