A Kentucky federal jury recently awarded a young girl and her family, represented by Schachter, Hendy & Johnson, $7.2 million in an Advanced Bionics cochlear implant case after finding that Advanced Bionics, the manufacturer of the cochlear implant, failed to properly test the device before selling it to the public. The jury also found that Advanced Bionics unlawfully switched the outside vendor of the device's feedthru component without notifying the United States Food and Drug Administration.
